I recently wrote a Buddhism-inspired song, and thought that it would be nice to share. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! Om Mani Padme Hum, by John Garbutt
Very nice, but a little slow for my taste. I really like the lyrics and the mandolin? It sounds like something from the Renaissance. I'm not a musician but it seems to me it would be really good if it were layered with some other accompaniment, similar to the example below. I know there's no mandolin but I like the layering of the vocals and the overall effect seems very similar to your song, they both sound very spiritual. Maybe a choir singing the chorus?
there are, or were, many buddhist hymns available on line. i've forgotten the links, and i don't remember if they came from quiet mountain or one or several nepali sites. its been a long time since i've thought about this.
