The place looks well alright, man. Sure, it's a bit bare now but you've only just moved in so you've got time to sort it all out... It's a pretty good size too. I've lived in some tiny places compared to that... Will the landlord let you decorate or do you have to keep the decor? It can make such a difference to the vibe of a place when you attack it with paint and a few stoned friends, get it exactly how you want it...

I moved house about 8 weeks ago and it's ok but doesn't quite feel right yet. My room's not too small but I am sharing a house with 6 other people though so it can be a nightmare, they're all cool, musicians and artists and computer geeks (therefore all messy and lazy hehe). The rent's breaking my back though, I'm paying £400 ($800USD) a month plus bills and council tax which is a nightmare but it's a great city centre location in one of the most expensive (property wise) towns in the country. Just trying to persuade my gf to move in so we can split the rent (and of course it's great having her around lol).

    Hope you settle in ok!

That sucks, i thought most places will let you paint but you have to paint them the orginal color once the lease was up.

If you could paint you should get a bunch of mushies, some friends and alot of paint and make one room pyschedellic looking. I wanna do this when i get my house or when i have my own bedroom.

well, iirc the lease specifically says i can't change the color without permission and would also require i repaint it the original color before moving out.

i wouldnt mind spending the money to paint it once, but i dont want to paint an apartment i'm about to move out of. waste of money, seeing as if i dont paint it at all, THEY repaint it the original color AFTER i move out. seems to me if they're gonna do it anyway, i shouldnt have to change the color back. but whatever....i suppose its good business on their part...allowing us to decorate how we want, so long as we paint the place fore them before we move...save them some money.

yeah, i stock up on rice and dried beans, cause beans and rice is always nice, i sometimes even make it when i have plenty of other food....add some spices and salt and its damn tastey. also real popcorn is really cheap. far cheaper than microwave, and it tastes better and is more filling to boot. in fact a big bowl of popcorn with butter and parmesan/romano, garlic, black pepper and salt is a pretty tastey snack, and if you make a bigger batch even a meal....although not a balanced one....

anyway, i overspend, and i'm teaching myself to be better about things. now its more important than ever....now that i have no roomate, i have to be responsible for EVERYTHING.....if i fail....big trouble! so i'm gonna be better with my money these days out of necessity, i think. i might even make the switch from cigars to pipes completely....far more affordable.

Hey man good to see that you have a new crib, lookin great to me from whatI can see. Living frugally can be a bitch, I've lived that ramen noodle lifestyle before, its not all that bad. I always make my own popcorn too, I like it better that way.

Looks like a nice place man. As time goes on youll make it your own. I felt bummed when i first moved into my new room a year ago, and over time it just grew. now i think its the chillest (yes thats a word) bedroom of anyone i know. It just takes time to acumulate cool shit.

And perfect dark is the greatest game ever. 10X better than golden eye.
