None - I know about the Grand Canyon, the Rocky Mountains, Niagara Falls and most of the natural wonders the US has to offer. But I think New Zealand, Australia, Canada and so many others have more unique, natural beauty to offer.

How much have you travelled outside the US?

In all the time I've spent in quality travel destinations around the US, I don't recall ever meeting a tourist from the UK. Most of our foreign visitors (in the South, especially) seem to come from Germany, Japan, and Ontario, Canada.

The Germans in particular seem to be quite knowledgable about US travel, and ask good questions. They don't talk about politics much.

And...I need to get it through my thick head that the ability to easily and instantly talk to people from other countries is not always a great and wonderful thing. :(

I meet Brits all the time in Florida. And I love poking and prodding and starting arguments with the cocky ones. Most of them I meet in bars and have a great time with. I remember having a drunk America vs. England talk over a bonfire with some Plan B wannabe and my girlfriend at the time was livid. In fact, that might have been the beginning of the end of our relationship.

So, you like to talk to British men over a campfire (and/or bars) and you enjoy prodding them?

Is that supposed to be a gay joke? LMAO even your jokes are hilariously awkward to me.

I get along fine with most of them, I poke and prod the ones who act like they are hard because they're from London.. or that we are somehow inferior to them as we are American.

It was a civil joke rather than a 'gay joke'.

I hate men from London too.

    I know the type.

    'orrible.

They get shut down pretty fast around here.

If it makes any difference regarding my opinions, I'm considering getting my (English) coat of arms tattooed on myself, or a variation of it. My grandmother has traced back lineage to the 1400s.

I wish I could say my last name on here without fear of my overbearing and militarized gov't for expressing unpopular opinions.

But I would drink with you Odon :cheers2:

I am a British man living in US. Have been here for about 8 years now. There are many differences. One being that OVERALL Americans have very little idea about what is going on in the rest of the world unless it involves terrorism or pop culture.

I love living in the US and have traveled all over the country, alaska, hawaii, east, west, mexico, all through Europe as well. I agree with what someone above couple pages back posted that the suburban sprawl here is pretty awful after a while. You can fly 3,000 miles and come accross the same malls and housing developments. I guess USA is a relativley new country and doesnt have a lot of institutions compared to other paces around the world.

It depends on the setting. I doubt that you regularly overhear American business meetings or academic lectures. I just wrote this post, entirely from memory except for two dates (I suck at remembering historical dates) during my lunch break:

I wouldn't write that way in RT posts. That level of seriousness seems inappropriate in casual conversation.

After business meetings, I never hear Americans standing around in the hallway speaking formally, like they did in the meeting.
