You're all a bunch of hypocritical pigfuckers.... heheheheheheeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't see me, I'm hiding behind free speech!

Truth is though the internet is heaven for anyone who wants to say something offensive and hide in the darkness of anonymity.. they're too 'smart' to say it to your face, cause they know they'll have the favour returned in the form of a fist :)

That is one of the most common, but worst, generalizations about people that are assholes on the internet. I know of a few people from this site alone that can be quite harsh to people, but would not hesitate to say the same thing to someone in person because they can and most likely would fuck them up if the person hit them.

Well then, they're assholes on AND off the internet. They're still hiding behind something, whether it's free speech, anonymity, or their fists.

Perhaps it's the overly polite people that hold back and are fake if not borderline fake that are hiding behind something? Or more appropriately, hiding from something.

That's one possibility. Then again, perhaps it's people who insult and put down other people who are hiding from themselves, masking their own mistakes with pride. Perhaps people who choose not to insult each other are doing so as they know that they have their own flaws, like any other person does.

It's not always about insulting somebodies mistake or "flaw" though. You're isolating a specific problem instead of viewing the overall problem in general. Saying what you feel about somebody when it is less than positive does not always come about from actual flaws in somebodys character or personality.

Agreed. I don't know. This sort of thing won't ever be worked out. I'm inclined to believe that a lot 'over the net' insults go hand-in-hand with pride, or lack of thought (ie. I'm so much better than you only brush your teeth once a day and read comic books, so you're just a loser and are not worth what I am).. then again, if someone runs around murdering people, insulting them has much less to do with it. It's a context-sensitive thing, I suppose. Then again, even murder can argued about constantly until it's seen as necassary or justified, or just forgotten about, ala George Bush.

Maybe we just take language too seriously : Allah sucks himself and gobbledegook in his mouth. I stick wooden rods up my ass and sell dungsticks to dumb Americans who think they're the shit. (when I say dumb Americans who think they're the shit, I'm reffering to humans who cannot speak but understand that I'm selling them dung on a stick, of course.) Mehhh.

I'm not quite sure I understood the last part, really. Either way, context-sensitive or not, it's all opinionated on what is called for and what is not. Just certain things now seem to require the burden of proof is all. Either way, I'm going to keep doing what I do, and if somebody sues me they better have a damned good lawyer. I wont 'beat them up', but I'll sure as fuck countersue. Thanks to my mom being sue happy I've got a great litigation lawyer these days.

Ignorance like that is the reason we probably already do. Bunch of militant, druggie kids with out of control radical ideas.

lol sorry , its not like i meant what i wrote... but it just really hits me in the soul... ignorance, ignorance is inside all of us... we dont know shit, no one does... if i know something, its that i know nothing. but there we are, with ego-centered asswipes all over the planet trying to feed their energy by coming up with things that are absolutely pointless... we screwed up life bad, and it just keeps getting more fucked up every year, oil crisis, stupid laws, stupider governments, environmental destruction... cant wait till an asteroid kills us all.

.. but how do you know that you know nothing if you know nothing?
Sorry but I couldn't resist, I like word games, I'm a loser.. I guess it proves your point though :)
Yeah.. well.. we won't need an asteroid if we carry on the way we are. Either way we kill ourselves, an asteroid kills us, or the sun explodes. There's no way out really. I do agree with you though, we have fucked things up considerably, and it does come down to plain old ignorance/stupidity. Ask any western leader what they care more about, the environment or the economy... then ask them to invest enough money in alternative and renewable forms of energy to power their country by next year, and see if the replies add up. Never mind though, we'll get over it :|

Im sorry to hear that you were victimized lysnsey, I myself went through alot of crap in life, being beat on at school all the time and persicuted by teachers, this whole world is really messed up these days. Somehow I just keep on going forward but not without a psychiatrist. I hope you are able to find away to put everything you are feeling behind you.
