New York and California got rich because they utilised the resoruces of OTHER Americans. They have no right to independence and neither does Scotland. And without the rest of Britain, Scottish oil for example, would never have been discovered.

And my pt wasnt that Scotland was English 1500 yrs ago. Its that the BRITISH have been one group for THOUSANDS of yrs.
Scotland took over England at the beginning of the Stuart era. And BRITISH, English resources built the Scottish region up. So hard luck, it doesnt neatly divide up if only ONE party choses to. Families, businesses, relationships were all connected because there was an agreement that there was a legal and irrevocable union. Break that agreement, and you can prepare for chaos and poverty. No English going there on holiday, or defending you from invasion. No allowing Scots to become British prime minister or getting well paid jobs down South. No defending/bailing out corrupt banks run by smug pricks like RBS and HBOS. No billions in oil exploration. Run your economy like the Faroes,see how that goes! Launch an unconscionable attack on your own "family" and they will attack back.

Many of the wealthiest and most powerful in Britain are actually Scottish exploiters. The last 3 prime ministers were all to some extent or other, for example. As have been many landowners as far South as Wales and Southern England. Most of em have their fingers in the biggest pies South of the border.
