so early! we should be getting snow here pretty soon too, apparently. I'm not sure if I'm ready for a northern ontario winter yet haha.

not early for colorado. it can snow anytime, early september-late may early june. we dont USUALLY get snow in september or may, but we get our heaviest snows in the spring (we got 3 feet of snow overnight once, in march of 2003.)

its going to be a rough winter, if my observations are accurate. my mom had all but one pear snatched off her tree by squirrels, usually they just nibble and leave the pears attached. this time they took the fruit 'to-go'. i have noticed the bunny feet in my neighborhood- extra furry/ fluffy.

because of the geography the front range (the eastern edge of the rockies) can stall weather systems. the snow in march 2003 was moving from east to west, stalled on the edge of the mountains, coulding get up and over, so it blew its load all over denver. google some videos/ news stories. when i say 3 feet, overnight, i really mean it. and we measured in our back yard. we have pictures of our old dog looking very confused, and then burrowing through the snow.

me too! lol. it was perfectly timed.

im working on crocheting some baby blankets. i figure baby gifts will sell well. plus they take real sitting-down-to-work-on-something time, so i can charge a little more. i always feel weird putting a price on my work, but it is hardest when the projects are easy. i will have help pricing my stuff, and the church only takes like 10%. my goal is to make $300 after the church gets their cut. it might be unrealistic, but we will see.

i know up here it looks that way when they clear the roads in rocky mountain national park, the snow accumulates all winter, so the layers are pretty well compacted. people go up and carve their names into the snow.
