i went to jury selection once. i couldnt hide my opinion. this lady was trying to sue for an obscene amount of money because she stepped off a curb wrong. no, lady. watch where the hell you are going. they did not find me suitable.

i think if you are obviously trolling you might be punished somehow.

Like orison said...kind of... if they send it through the mail just act like you never got it. I had the sherrif hand deliver to me though so it would be tough to say i didnt get it. As far as getting off a trial its easy if you know how, and you dont have to act all crazy. If you can say a close relative is in law enforcement that will get you off any criminal case. Say you or a close relative were in a lawsuit will get you off any case that involves someone suing somebody else or anything involving an insurance company. I was also considered for a couple long cases and you can just say you cant miss work for more than a week and the judge will let you off. If your unemployed i dont think that will work though.

 

You have to tell what you do for a living, so according to what you do...you want your "intelligence level" to be coincide with that so you aren't obvious in not wanting to serve.

Edit: yeah, pensfan had good ideas with telling some reason like a relative has been in a law suit, or you can tell them you feel a certain way about the death penalty, for instance. I probably wouldn't tell them I had a relative in law enforcement unless I did because they might (probably) ask you the person's name.

I think your best chance of not being chosen is to wear tie-dyed tee shirts and other "off beat" apparel. If you had a biker's wallet attached by a chain to your belt loop, that would also upset them. lol They don't usually like loose cannons. lol

 

I got a jury duty notice in the mail like 2 months ago but i never sent it back to them.

I used to wear a 3 foot chain when I was younger. It hung down to my knees but my wallet was never stolen lol. It was probably 5-10 pounds. And I was living within 30 minutes of Columbine, people notice when you look like that.

My mom hated it because it scratched the hell out of her furniture. There was only one chair I was allowed to sit at during dinner.

its a civic duty. if you ever have to have a trial by jury, what kind of jurors do you want?

 

that civic duty ended when they falsely arrested me for my brothers shit.. Assaulting me in the process.. which i furthermore escalated ,, sure arrest me for something IO did do, Ill go quietly.. arrest me 3 times for the same thing for someone else. someone is getting a broken jaw..
