I wish people put as much effort into protesting the US's human rights violations, stripping of civil liberties, and ever-looming fascist/police state as they do in these free Tibet/China protests.
You are on to something here. Consider the inverse also. Sseems that the more hostile a Nation is toward The US, the greater that Nations internal contradictions seem to be You have got to admit that the Tibet Protest has a great emotional hook; the Budhism, the Dahli Lama, the vegitarianism, It is certainly not about America's ethnic or trade ties to Tibet. We are talking symbolic value here. Symbolic value has trumped many more serious concerns in The US. :jester:
I actually came across some protesters in Toronto a few weeks ago. I bought some tomatoes at a nearby stand and threw them into the crowd. I bought 6 tomatos, 6. Good times.
So it's ok for you to protest the protesters. But not right for thinking consumers to boycott peacefully a function that benefits a evil government?
I hope you threw them some lettuce, bread and salami to make a sandwich too. Tomatoes by themselves is just rude.
