Wow very nice, you sound like a festival veteran! Yes I agreed with everyone those bands though for sure, hope the schedule doesnt screw us ova! I agree for backstage or bust. I said that last year at Lolla and pulled off artist bands for myself my sister and a friend HighLigh of my life (exageration) when I met Karen O and told er that one day when I write a book she will be able to find a chapter dedicated to how bad ass she is. Then later that night, she forgets lyrics mid-set ahhh I dont know was she wasted or was she thinkin ah muh!!! lol
man i don't know how i feel about backstage or bust. That's a bold statement! But then again someday i'll hopefully be playing on one of those stages. But in the meantime i love the camping and the meeting of all sorts of groovy people. And walking around the vast wasteland and Shakedown Street and hitching caravan rides when i'm tired of walking while tripping on acid the whole time. It's all too much fun. i love it. The drugs, the girls, the music, the dancing (which i'm really gonna up a notch this year, i need to check out silent disco), the storms, the 4 days of no showers, buying new pieces and jewelry and whatever else, might i add it's the only place where i could legitly say i've had the most intense spiritual awakenings of my life, two years in a row. 2008 was the most intense thing ever, and 2009 topped that tenfold! and now it's the triple crown. Bonnaroo 2010.........................
totally! never been to lolla but thinking i will prob be going this year if i can get artist passes. I managed to get one for acl this year and c3 passes for me and my guy the year before - similar to artist passes cept you don't get to ride around on golf carts we got to see the Raconteurs back stage and the next year the Dead Weather. Have I mentioned I LOVE Jack White? Best moment though was when Alison Mosshart lay down and lit a stoge on stage, I caught her eye and go "FUCK YEAH WOMAN" and throw a corna making this goofy ass face, she cracked up. God they are rock n roll.... I love it. I'm not trying to sound like a cockass saying backstage or bust.... I just love the intimacy of it, and you aren't stuck in the sweaty PIT. I'm spoiled I guess, Austin is a music city and I know a lot of musicians. I'm one myself. I agree, I'd love to be playing one of those fests sometime soon.
^ yes you a fortunate one for sure zilla! And its ok even if ya do sound like a "cockass" was it? hahaha arty: Wouls be amazing to just attend ACL, but backstage come on. Im not the slightest bit against chillin with the crowds, you meet cool people and its a great feelin energy everywhere. But yes backstage is a whole notha surreal (to me) experience, you know with like the open bar of course arty: wooohhhooooo Bonnnnaroooooo! PM people if your going I wanna meet y'alllll!
cockass, fartknocker, needlenoodler, that's me! I know, I know. totally spoiled am I. it's cause I'm a smooth talka I play the geeeetar, but my real talent is in singing... and in songwriting I like to think. Austin is the SHIT, come for ACL or SXSW!
i want to hear your voice sometime. I have a mad love for female singers, and you seem like you would have a beautiful singing voice. Do you have a really deep Texas accent too? if so then you'll make me drool
gosh ya'll are some hardcore festival goers. festivals are damn way too expensive nowdays for me. So...I have a few favorite local ones that I go to annually on a day pass kind of a thing. I dont like big crowds and over publicized shows and festies...I prefer the smaller more intimate settings myself....such as the Kate Wolf fest and the World music fest in Grass Valley. We usually get a day pass and then camp illegally for free on the beach. Always a good time indeed! =]
^ ya for sure, small festivals are great too. I went to rock n reggae in mt pleasant in the past. Its on this indian campground where you could toke all the ganj you wanted no prob. But since then, they've began to just stockpile loads of coppers right before ya get there and they search yo shit! But still good live music regardless.
hey bro i used to frequent rock and reggae as well but there are tons of great festies round michigan that are so great dunegrass hoxeyville etc check em out
