Bonnaroo (mereged)

Shitttttt son I'm so excited. Mostly for Keller/Rudd/SCI, since they rarely make it to my neck of the woods and this'll be my first time seeing them... But Jack White is totally gonna have to beat me away with a stick as well.

i am so excited that THE WHITE STRIPES will be there. they are amazing. my favorite band of all time

def. dont miss Xavier Rudd, you wont find any other artists playin didge at the ROO

Plus he just came out with a new album, so im sure hell be rockin that.

Theres a shitload of bands at the ROO i would rather have knee surgery than go see, but theres a handful of bands that you wont get many more chances to see ever again, so i guess it balances out. Lots of diversity on this years lineup, gotta love that since the ROO is MTV and mainstream esque

 

I think I'm most excited about DJ Sasha & Digweed...oh man..that'll be awesome!

 

i don't think i can handle bonnaroo again. nope, not going.

I'm a little disappointed that The Police are going to be there, but if I've stuck it out through Dave for two years, I'm sure I can make it through them. Also, I'm excited to see the Flaming Lips return after 4 long years.

 

I was talking to some kid that went to bonnaroo in '04. He said that it was awesome back then, but he thinks that bonnaroo's getting more commercialized and lame each year. He also said that to him it's just a once in a lifetime thing and he probably wouldn't go again.

That kind of bums me out, because I hear its such a great place and it sounds a lot of fun, but then he tells me all this bad stuff about it.

I'm still going to go, but i'm less excited about it than I was!

 

obviously thats just one dudes opinion...
i would go every year if i could... i know a few people who have been to every bonnaroo.

it doesn't get more "lame" every year! every year they add more and more attractions, besides just the music.

commercialized? how so? more like diversified!

 

i went in 04 and it was definitely different. personally, i think the crowd gets lamer every year. and 200 bucks for a weekend is a wee bit steep, in my opinion. i don't know, everyone is different.

You're right. It is just one person's opinion. I guess i'll have to go myself to find out if I think its awesome or not. I'm sure it will be!

This just in:

Brittany Spears has been added to the line-up. I am also hearing rumors about a possible new kids on the block reunion. Early word is that they have been offered the headlined spot. Sweet!

 

I wouldn't go to that festival this year if you paid me.

 

Haha, while I thought that was very funny, it hasn't gotten all that bad. I'll admit that the festival has gone extremely downhill in terms of both the crowd and the musical line-up (which IMO started happening before Infiniti [Clear Channel's Subsidiary] purchased the rights to it), it's still a good time to be had if you know how to find the right crowd and see the good bands.

Truth be told, I probably wouldn't be going if it wasn't 45 minutes away from me
