When it comes to Dylan, how you get the money does not matter as long as you get it. I got lucky though, I saw him when he was on tour with Willie Nelson, so 2 legends for the price of 1 in a great little baseball stadium.
I saw dylan play a year ago, and sadly to say i was a little dissapointing. Not to say it was a bad show, it was that dylan didnt play his guitar at all, and since he is gettin old his voice is goin sour. I was hoping he would do some solo acoustic songs
What the last guy said is true, Dylan plays the piano now instead of guitar(maybe he's too old these days) and his voice is shot to hell, but it was still a great show, it was heavy too, never heard so many guitar solos in a Dylan song before.
yeah.. i saw him about 5 times in the last 3 years.. and since 2003 he just play the piano.. cause he may have got some trouble with his hands like... artrosys or whatelse... anyway i think his gigs are still really good stuff.. but u know.. im a dylanhead i cant be very impartial when it comes up talkin about him..
Dylan is one of those rare artists that has been able to survive the 60's and 70's and havent had to see on the front page of the paper "Dylan Dead" He is an amazing poet and songwriter. If theres one reason to be proud to be from minnesota its becuase its where dylan was born, WOOOO
That's a sad thought though that in 10 years we could wake up and it's going to say in the paper, DYLAN DEAD.
Know what else is a sad thought... the headline will say "DYLAN DEAD" and a schoolmate of mine will say, "Who's Dylan?"
I'll cry like a baby when I see that headline. And like you said Katie, someone will just have to ask me "Who's Dylan?"
And I cried when Johnny Cash died. I think Johnny Cash did for what REAL country music was back then the same that Dylan did to folk. Johnny Cash carried on Hank Williams and Bob carried on Woody Guthrie. Bob Dylan and Neil Young are the two most important living musicians to me.
now, bob wanted to BE woody! I personally dread the day Arlo G returns to the cosmic womb. made it through Jerry's passing with my eternal dead head spouse.. Arlo's demise will be his turn to do it all for a week. and people MY age will have to think long and hard to remember Arlo. to the real topic, I've seen Dylan twice, both good, tight but not fantastic shows. I saw him in 88 in South Carolina getting a nosebleed under a go cocks sign. surreal. Steel Pulse opened. Then in 2000, my son, Arlo (see what I mean about the first statement?)wanted to go to his first concert of his choosing. We wewre braced for Back Street or Britney or some country crap, but he said Dylan. We melted in relief, and AND and Phil Lesh was the co-bill! My son has an autographed guitar pick and I have memories of an awesome Scarlet-fire!
I love Bob Dylan. I saw him at the beginning of November. He's lost his voice but I love that guy. And I always thought he was so cute! peace
