It's not always useful to judge a person's being on one documentary, even if it's one he made himself I didn't watch it by the way so I can solely admire him for what matters, his music.
I suppose you're right, and my words were a bit harsh. But I can't help it, it just left a bad taste in my mouth. I still dig a lot of his music, I'm not judging his tunes on behalf of his attitude, I'm judging his character. I can still appreciate someone's art even though I can't stand the artist personally.
I am blessed with this talent too :cheers2: Not sure if it's the exact case with Donovan (or Dylan). They both seem ok people to me. But I sincerly mean it when I say why should we be bothered with the possible self absorbness (sp? ) of an artist which music we like but who we will never meet. Let his family deal with that is what I think
Got to be Dylan for me ! although donovan has some good tracks I have over 50 Dylan albums so you could say I am a fan
Donovan though: he may not be timeless, but he may make sense for the periodic trust in not wanting to believe the crap they feed about values and justice from War. Really what happened after the second world war?
It is Jakob, and I was trying to think of the song that was big that he did. Here it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zzyfcys1aLM"]The Wallflowers - One Headlight - YouTube
Bob's international popularity and indeed longevity along with the re-interpretation by other talents of his songs certainly has him as number 1 in this one v one consideration ... although I do like a bit Don's laid back/mellow yellow serene sound
BOB DYLAN is the Man. Nobody can compare to him and his brilliance. Dylan still puts out albums and performs live, for which I love. Donovan was a great artist and instrumental in helping the Beatles learn a new way of playing guitar for the White Album. Blackbird by Paul McCartney. His technique was called the "the claw" Love so many Donovan songs and think he is awesome too. Miss my Donovan cd with Atlantis, Mellow Yellow, Jennifer Juniper, Hurdy Gurdy Enjoyed seeing all of the video clips with Donovan, Beatles and more at the Indian retreat for meditation in the late 60s with Maharshi, even though he was found to be a fraud.
