If there wasn't blue grass then there wouldn't be alot of great music like Jamn Bands and Rock-n-roll or even blues/country !!one of my favorite bands are the Alternate roots.
Old-time music is not really commercially viable, so nobody's making any money to speak of selling CDs. Most musicians who play this kind of music do it for the love of traditional music. So you're not likely to find much of this music in regular record stores.
