The only damnable blaspheme is against the holy spirit or the essential god given desire to goodness in men. Our good and moral protections extend naturally to those we regard as ours or our own and the thing that makes possible mans inhumanity to man is that he tells himself that what he sees is not his nor any of his own.
i've always said i'm blasphemous and proud, but really there's no such thing as blasphemy, it's a ploy used to control and guilt trip people.
If there is no such thing how can it be used as a ploy? I am saying there is such a thing and it is perpetrated to great detriment on the innocence of men not against god.
Far be it from me to interpret another's meaning, but I believe that Poet meant that religiously instilling the belief that one can offend intelligent beings beyond this realm is a ploy used to control people. I agree that if the weight of seriousness attached to the word "blasphemy" were applied to offenses perpetrated against fellow humans, then it would be good to believe in it.
The very same ploy exhibited at the most basic levels of human interaction with the words, you hurt my feelings.
