Republicans and democrats blame each other for spending too much, like drinking a diet soda while you eat a gallon of ice cream. Neither party has any choice in the matter, because the American tax payers keep insisting they lower their taxes, and then complain about the service. As if they are shopping at Walmart, and surprised to discover they are buying cheap plastic crap made in China. Small wonder the banks used blue smoke and mirrors to turn a balanced budget into a 20 trillion dollar debt. Oooops, we forgot to put this on your bill.

A twenty year study by Princeton confirmed that, no matter who was voted into office, only the top 10% of the wealthiest ever got anything they wanted. The less Americans get what they want, the more noise they make and louder they insist that voting the bums out of office is the solution. They might as well be chickens waiting to be fed or slaughtered.

No one likes taxes. But the idea that they are always too high and the goverment wastes whatever money you give them is a mostly right wing way of thinking. Democrats are more prone to accept taxes if they believe they are going to something useful and more likely to accept the idea that the goverment will do that.

It is not a way of thinking, because you have to be smarter than a chicken, to be considered to have a brain. Forty years of studies have concluded the republican party is organized along the same lines as a flock of chickens. Half the country would die of heart attacks if they even attempted to ask for higher taxes. There's nobody home and they keep voting for whoever advertises the most or whichever clown screams the loudest. They just voted the Duck into office, because the only people they trust less than themselves to make a decision, are the people they have already elected.

Trump is trying to raise taxes on goods purchased through Amazon. We also see tolls being put on highways that were once free and increased fees for national parks. If Trump implements his tariffs, almost everything is going to be more expensive.

But at least the rich won't have to pay so much.

They are already paying. The stock market is over-valued, and nobody in their right mind has any confidence in Trumps ideas of economics.

The GOP platform is: TRILLIONS FOR THE MIC, NOTHING FOR AMERICA.

Some of that does trickle down in the form of jobs for defense contractors, but it doesn't make our country better. For a fraction of what we spend on the military, we could have high-speed rail, EV charging stations, single-payer healthcare, affordable higher education... We'd be a much better country for it.

We haven't fought a war in defense of our country since WWII. It's all about the MIC.

So you don't feel we have been at war against our 9/11 enemies?

We fought a couple of wars in the name of that cause, but the first is still dragging on inconclusively and the second was directed at the wrong enemy. Even Trump says that. If such wars are important, why would we be talking about diverting military resources to a Wall-building boondoggle?

Sadly, black politicians do nothing but prey on black Americans who are impoverished and suffering. Keep them poor and enslaved so they will keep voting Democrat with the promise of freebies. There is not one person in the black cock-us who represents black people who are impoverished. Scum bag traitors, all of them. It just breaks my heart how black people in power (not all, but many) so easily sell their own people out to make a buck.

Largely because Trump has defeated ISIS in his furst year and we only seem to need any real resources on the Strian effort now. That frees up some assets yes. The military could do a fine job on border enforcement efforts.

America has the benefit of two oceans and two countries that really don't care about invading it. No one really cares about invading America with a land force. For a fraction of the cost the military could still be larger than other countries. Military officials have said we don't need new weapons. What we have so very capable and often ahead of other countries. Yet there are still jets and other technology built that cost billions. A standing army is very expensive. We don't have money for universal healthcare but the Air Force has money to build jets that never do anything but test flights before they are told it's obsolete.

I think Trump gives himself too much credit, as usual. ISIS was driven out of Mosul after a nine month battle with Iraqi, Kurdish, and U.S. forces that began well before the 2016 election. Loss of Mosul eliminated ISIS's pretensions to being a caliphate. Patrick Cockburn confidently reported in May, 2016 "ISIS faces likely defeat in battles across Iraq and Syria--but what happens next? "Isis face likely defeat in battles in Iraq and Syria - but what next? What happened next is that the U.S. concentrated on ISIS while Russia and Iran helped Syria battle its other rebel foes. Consequently, the U.S. is losing the war in Syria to Iran and Russia. Syria's final battle shows how the U.S. lost the war to Russia and Iran

We see a lot of that around here and it's perplexing. Mayor Bill Campbell went to jail for his deeds. Mayor Shirley Franklin made all kinds of promises that she didn't keep (except to her family and cronies who bid for airport concessions). But she avoided jail, so she MUST have been innocent. Same with Kasim Reed though the FBI is still investigating his pay-for-play administration. However, a LOT of evidence was destroyed and now the city's computers have been mysteriously "hacked" and even more information is now missing. But then, the current mayor is one of Reed's cronies, so it's not much of a mystery.

In all of this is a long list of broken promises. They just lost the Atlanta Braves to the next county over because the development they promised around Turner Field, a world class venue, was never developed. Instead the neighborhood remained a crime infested slum and the only way they could fill seats in the stadium was to build a wall around the parking lots and patrol them while the game was being played.

Go back a little further and you have Beverly Hall, engineer of the infamous Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal. A full generation of children were literally cheated out of their education thanks to the "amazing progress" she and her crew made in test scores in such an abnormally short time. Hall won awards and money for the illusion of improvement and when the investigation started, her whole crew circled the wagons until they were faced with REAL jail time. Some of them refused plea bargains in favor of actual trials only to learn that the judge had no sympathy for them and had them locked up. What they did to thousands of predominantly black children SHOULD have had all the parents in the streets with torches and pitchforks.

Instead, they were fed a diet of "they're just investigating her because she's black" kind of coverage. And of course Beverly Hall looked like she could have been their grandmother, so they just let it happen. Any parents who did complain were berated and even threatened. I feel really sorry for the children who were cheated. How high can they possibly rise now?

At some point the illusion has to be revealed. Yes, it's a race thing. But the people doing all of this shit, are black. And the people who get fucked the most by this shit, are black. Slavery, Jim Crow and segregation didn't cause this.

You and MeAgain either share the same bad information or you drinkfrom the same Kool Aid Source. From the Washington Post, one of the least friendly Trump papers.

Under Trump, gains against ISIS have ‘dramatically accelerated’

And I didn't not mind one bit if we get out of Syria. Trump isn't trying to make Americans fight for something we get no gain from. Like the billions spent in Afghanistan. For what? As soon as we leave they go back to killing each other. As he said with the Trillions that has been wasted there he could have rebuilt our infrastructure twice. I agree. We need to get out.

    KKK Social Cohesion

I've had blacks insist they prefer to deal drugs for white people,
But, that's like saying a car dealer,
Tends to comprehend the value of money,
    Better than, someone selling door-to-door.
In the US we made sure blacks had nothing,
Then attempted to give them everything,
Then started taking it away again,
And, I suspect, they tend to get confused.
White collar crime is all new to them.
They were at a further disadvantage,
In that they were not from a single culture,
And had to invent almost everything from scratch.
Obviously, any country in the world will immediately point out,
What the US lacks, is anything remotely like mental health care,
Or remotely like a social cohesion of any sort,
Unless, of course, you count the KKK and reality TV.
