    Check all your hair and facial products/soaps for cyclopentasiloxane and polysiloxane (even "hypoallergenic" and so-called "natural"). Those ingredients can trigger breakouts/clogged pores.

    Witch hazel is also a decent toner.

    the longhairs have a method called OCM: oil cleansing method that is based on castor oil. that will rout out lighter weight oils like sebum. (skin oil)

    It also involves the steaming like the Lush product (I'll not run through my Lush is evil rant here) mentioned above.
    I'm thinking what works is lubrication of the oil and dirt plugs and steaming so they can get out.
