Blacks have a higher rate of deaths or injuries while interacting with law enforcement officers then with white suspects committing the same crimes. The statistics back up that issue.
All lives do matter. But the BLM movement is trying to highlight the shocking differences in the way people are treated due to their race.

I would have to say ultimately all lives matter, or none at all.
That means the lives of everything, plants, animals, fish, bacteria, fungi, etc.
And we are destroying it all, as if only OUR human lives matter! For what?

Still waiting for your response to me? I asked for your opinion on keeping the slogan the same or changing it? All you told me was “Get an education?” What’s your response? Change it to “All Lives” or keep it as “Black Lives?”

"All lives matter" is the obvious... why state the obvious when that isn't part of the problem.

Here is the problem... Black lives should matter, but that isn't what is actually happening in the US.

Many of the people screaming "All Lives Matter" in the US, are excluding certain demographics from their thought process. It's a racist dog whistle.

Keep it as "Black Lives Matter".

As has been explained "Black Lives Matter" is a slogan aimed at bring attention to racial inequality.
There is no racial inequality with all lives.

But the question is relevant. Where I am at on the issue is that so much reform is needed it's difficult to know where to begin. In having studied it, I decided the better option (rather than defunding anything) is to educate cadets in sociology of ethnicity in a way that introduces provocative emotional meaning into policing.

In order for this to be effective though, re-educating seniority is also a top priority. One hand knows and accepts what the other is doing, so to speak.

As I was raised "color blind", ALL LIVES MATTER.

    ALL good people's lives MATTER.

Think about it (yes, I know this comment will be regarded as quite simplistic), but, when all is said and done, there is only ONE race......the HUMAN race.

In EVERY ethnic and racial group, there is good and bad, peace-loving, radical, gentle, violent, bigoted, and humanitarian.

I think we are LONG OVERDUE to simply regard each other as BROTHERS and SISTERS, and put aside our petty differences and LEARN to RESPECT one another, and AGREE to DISAGREE, and to do so with RESPECT to the other person.

Also, to ACCEPT each other for what we ARE.

Martin Luther King once said that "a man should be judged by the content of his character, and NOT by the color of his skin."

    AMEN to that!

"Black Lives Matter Too" is what it should have been. It would have brought attention to the fact that they are being treated atrociously, while not being able to be misconstrued as saying other people's lives don't matter. It's sort of like looking for equality but not favoritism.

Yeah but Black people have centuries of abuse that will take a lot of amends…and large chunks of our population still haven’t admitted there has been and is a problem. Step One.

I wouldn't argue. Which I might enunciate depends on whether there are any "black lives" around me at the time.

One thing you'll never catch me doing is posting any bumper stickers on my car.

All lives do not matter. Those who rape children do not matter. Those who cheat people out of their money--property don't matter. Those who rob and kill don't matter. Several other categories I can think of. Black Lives Matter is necessarily pointed out because in many areas of life---they don't. They should, but they don't.
