Bitcoins will keep rising and falling. I think there's a ceiling level they'll reach after a few years, probably not higher than $300 because you'll have people stress selling every time it raises dramatically, and then you will have the people who do not want to buy because of the price. They will wait until it drops to get in on the action.

so if you buy a physical bit coin do you pay ~$100 (the going rate for bitcoin that day) for ~$30 worth of silver (the approx. price for an ounce of silver)?

i think i'd rather just buy silver.

Hah yeah, actually I'm pretty sure the real physical bitcoins are made of a worthless metal, but have a code on the back for the address of that one mined bit coin. The silver one must be for novelty and bought for the value of the silver..

That's just one of the many "wallet" sites. Apparently the site was run through a Bank of America account which was closed... Mtgox is also down so that makes two! I switched to campbx though...

Bitcoins on the other hand will be around till the collapse of the Internet

 

so even if your wallet site goes down, you don't lose the bit coins that you had in that wallet?

i'm hesitant to give out my phone number on that one site that will give you 0.0015 BTC....might not be worth the 15 cents.

 

Nah so far my coins are lost in limbo, and I gotcha pork, I used a shitty tracphone .. Haven't gotten any spam texts or calls as of yet.

 

the only way all these free micro bit coins are ever gonna pay off for us is if BTC value blows up (by like a factor of ten)

i figured out if i keep getting these tiny fractions of BTC for free everyday for the next year...i will have about $2 at the end of the year. if that turned into $20...it'd still hardly be worth all the clicking

Yeah I gave up, kind of, I'm really just waiting to bank some money in some stocks so I can buy some machines to start mining for me n.n

 

I've been thinking about investing in them, price is now around 90 Euros and it's so hard to know when to get some. Seems still too risky now and perhaps it will never stabilize, but I am sure if it still exists in 10 years, you will be very rich if you buy them now. Either that or you lost all your money.

Also there is another player on the market that might have potential, which is Ripple. They are still in start-up phase and they will be giving about billions of 'XRP' in the coming weeks, so I guess it can't hurt to sign up and get those free 'ripples' now.

 

Seems like another DDoS attack on MtGox is going on right now and by the looks of it the price of bitcoins is dropping again.

Great concept indeed, every liberty loving person should embrace the project. I bought a few coins and been actually using them instead of hoarding. Which I believe is vital for its succes.

 

Ya, My Sister uses Bit Coins, the other day She watched 5 or 6 people "manipulate" the prices by buying and selling them in lots of 50 to 200, they sell, price drops, then they Buy them back Cheap!!! You gotta watch it close or you can lose your A**!!!
