Maybe I've said this before, but Bitcoin seems to me to be more of a scam than the normal stock market.

There is literally nothing stopping the biggest players from manipulating the price, and absolutely no way to get your money back if you put it in the wrong place.

Mining Dogecoin at about 500 khash/second...it makes some money

I've got a deal with Con-Ed where I pay less than $100/month no matter how much electricity and gas I use (they never read the gas meter cuz it's in my kitchen so all readings are estimate readings which are always the same....the actual reading on my gas meter is quite a bit higher than the estimate readings about $10-20 more worth of gas)

Security has been breached by hackers on at least one exchange (crypsty) and transactions have been sent to the thieves' wallets. Keep ur coins in an encrypted wallet on ur hard drive (and backed up)

Maybe someone can track them down thru the blockchain and get some of the coins back but I doubt that due to the nature of bitcoins it's pure 1's and 0's friends and the police can't "investigate" or anything either ya know.....

    And a court order...FUCK OUTTA HERE =\

The price has been dropping like mad recently.
$340 low earlier today, now back at $417.
    Anyone panicsell yet?

I'm holding on and riding it out. :D

Just watched a video about multi-sig wallets. Seems like a good idea if you're worried about security.

From my understanding it was a security exploit that affected the exchanges...the coins were stolen from the exchanges when withdrawals were redirected/sent to the hackers' wallets instead. Price way down because everyone is afraid to trade right now....

I need to read more about this and find out what happened exactly. I still mine Doge but they aren't going anywhere until I'm sure that my coins won't be stolen again lol

Crap, a massive upward rally now ($525 as we speak). I'm waiting for some money to come through so I can buy more BTC, but at this rate it looks like I'm getting less and less BTC for my money.

Damn man, I was thinking it might be a good time to buy cuz the market dropped so hard there was no where else it could go but up!

Thing is I'm still scared to trade after what happened. I have other coins (thousand coming in every day lol) but I lost almost 0.5 BTC to the wolves...

I guess all that is patched up or what? I haven't had time to actually look into what happend enough and I gave up trying to get rich quick a long time ago cuz you can also get poor quick too :p

how do I get some of these "bitcoins". The gos is they are the new currency to base all other currencies on instead of the US dollar. it may be a wee way off yet but the 'new world order' is surely not going to use the US dollar. as it is sooooo yesterday

Very likely, the euro-asian powers will go back to gold rather than the petrodollar as a world reserve currency. Already this is happening. China has now an estimated 10 - 13 thousand tons.

Meantime Bitcoin undermines the whole fiat ponzi token currency scam.

Who can say where it's going in this crazy world?

But I think Bitcoin has a future.

    HAPPY 4/20

It’s good news if you want to turn your old mobile phone into a pile of top-quality skunk weed, a trick that until now was known only to the pick-pockets of the Holloway Road. Now you can do it yourself, and legally too: http://www.coindesk.com/cex-drugs-fond-farewell/

I don't plan on investing my money in Bitcoin until it becomes more common. So far you can't buy much with it. I'm just using bitvisitor while I browse the web and do a couple other tasks for free bitcoins. I like the idea but maybe I'm missing the point?

I also read that you do have to pay taxes on bitcoins now if you use them to purchase services or goods, or if you convert them to cash. Just can't have any money that the government doesn't want a piece of.

Yeah, the government wants to control everything and tax the shit out of whatever they can.
In the US, you have to pay taxes on bitcoins, but it's really easy to avoid that. I doubt anyone pays taxes on their bitcoins, except perhaps bitcoin related businesses.
