Cheaper, far as I can see ... * My [omni] housemates probably spend more, but then they eat a lot of ready meals and processed stuff (because they're lazy and/or ignorant with regards proper cooking). * You obviously don't have to fork out for meat. Even reasonable quality meat is more expensive than lots of tasty vegetables and such. * Have a deeply held conviction that life is too short to eat crappy food, so do often buy the better quality (ergo more expensive) ingredients. Still it balances out because I eat cheap but good things with them. Am only feeding myself so they last longer too. * It tends to be about the same when eating out though.
I'm vegetarian...but i do like the taste of meat. I'm starting to find it's appearance repulsive, but with the odd sample from time to time, i find i still enjoy it. Sad i guess, but true.
