do you have a sling? I'd get one or two each of different kinds of front carrier. ring sling, both padded and unpadded, a pouch, a bjorn style, a mei-tai front pack carrier, etc. Try to nurse in each one. Find one that fits you both.

I didn't nurse for long, but when I was, my ringsling was my best friend. I had an unpadded Mayawrap classic.

But once you find that carrier, you can shop, clean, walk around, etc while nursing...

but his nursing pattern sounds normal for a newborn.
