Now that Cosby has been convicted, hopefully he’ll be sentenced on July 11th to the full 30 year term.

Cosby will appeal and the case will likely be in the courts until he dies. The point is he was convicted. It's terrible he abused women. It's terrible he never got help for himself and has ended up like this. He did do some good. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

 

His money can buy him as nice a life as possible in prison if he even went. All the commissary you want and it's not problem to arrange for a guard to get thousands of dollars to make sure the other inmates don't have a chance to be in the same room as you. He did not abuse kids so I don't think he has a huge target on his back but he is famous.

Also at his age his attorney can argue he can't handle real prison. He needs some kind of senior home prison where there are bars but it's not the same.

 

I will bet you $5 he won't see a day in prison. Gimme your email and we'll exchange addresses. I wanna pay you if I'm wrong.

 

i do remember this thread reaching several pages of posts. then i left for a few hours and came back and it was gone for no apparent reason, and i was told not to ask about it.

 

You might be right, but I don't know about that.

A friend of my family is finishing up his time in a maximum security prison. And he says that in the prisoner hierarchy, rapists and child molesters are at the very bottom of the totem pole; they're treated the worse. Just like in the movies.

With that said, I don't think Cosby's celebrity status will help him against being at the bottom.

 

Wish he would be sane enough to pay that woman a settlement instead of mounting another legal campaign in appeal. Would show remorse. But he doesn't seem cognizant of that. Hubris is a terrible failing. And he could do some kind of community service. Prison education. He has Phd in education. Step up! Be some part of that good guy we used to know and love! ugh... tragic.. Only other thing is seeing if this has ANY bearing on the other cases or this is just a fluke.
