Biking is, without a doubt, one of my central passions. It is easily my favorite sport, and is also one of my favorite activities, period. During the school year, I try to ride at least once a week, and in the summer, it is not uncommon for me to ride about two or three times during the week. I love the sheer energy and exhilaration that comes from riding a bike, as well as the drive to battle out tough obstacles, such as hills and rough terrain. Bainbridge Island is an excellent place to ride, because of its size, the fact that most roads aren't congested in any way, and the wild variation of its elevation. There are many hills on the island, in addition to beautiful scenery, which creates a perfect atmosphere for bike riding. There are several stretches of road on Bainbridge which look out over the Puget Sound, and when I ride a bike in good weather while passing one of these roads, I feel absolutely fantastic, no matter what circumstances I am facing in my life. Biking makes me feel alive in ways that I could never be otherwise. I fucking adore it. There is a great bike route on the Island called 'the Chilly Hilly', which is used for a race every February. The route, which is thirty-three miles long, encircles the whole island and encompasses many different types of elevations, never failing to provide a challenge. I have ridden this route about five or six times, and continue to do so when I find the opportunity. I cannot see how anyone wouldn't enjoy bike riding; the feeling I get from it is simply incredible.
Yeah!! I love biking too. My friend and I are going this weekend, should be fun. We don't have any really great trails here though. I bike to work every day and often to do errands too. If more people (especially Americans) would use this type of transportation a lot of our problems would be helped- pollution, obesity, etc. take care- metro
i'm a closet adrenaline junkie. biking is one of my few outlets for that. there is a mountain pass i ride regularly at night. i feel an uncanny connection to the mountain during the ride...much more than hiking...zenlike.
Biking is something I need to get back to. When I was younger, I used to go bike riding quite often. I loved it! But, something was young with my last bike, and it needed to be fixed. But the better thing was to get a new bike - which I haven't done. The last time I rode a bike was about six years. I've been lazy in getting a bike, which I should've done by now (It doesn't make sense for me to buy a bike here, but I can rent one).
i wish i could go biking. i just dont have the chance to or a place that i can do it at. i will tell you though that when i got on a bike about a year ago, it killed my legs that werent used to it.
