its probably an extra charge. i see surfers taking their boards with them all the time.
if you have a bike in amsterdam you can join us for a bike trip to the amstel park

Check out the pic below to get a free bike in Amsterdam.LOL

Seriously though, if your on holiday there for a while it works out cheaper
to buy one off a street dealer then sell it back to someone. This is strictly
taboo, I know, and I'm not condoning it but it goes on, even though most
are probably stolen in the first place.

Jennifer, if you fly with Easy Jet you can take a bike. It costs about £10
extra. You have to make sure you have some tools with you as you have
to twist the handle bars flush to the frame and you have to remove the
pedals and deflate the tyres before flying.

    thanks,
im flying with ryan air, i contacted them earlier. its a 25 euro charge. so im not sure if its very good value. i could get a cheap second hand one here for about 50. but i just love those dutch handlebars.
is it difficult to remove the pedals and so on? what kind of tools would i need to bring. or perhaps they would do that for me in a bike shop?

Proper Dutch bikes are very good and extremely sturdy.
Personally I would get one with hand brakes as opposed
to the backpedal ones. The best ones weigh a ton and
perfect for just coasting around the city as most of it's
flat. Still, you can't beat mountain bikes with a good
15 or 20 gears in comparison but it would probably get
quickly stolen, thats why everyone rides the typical
    ''bone shakers'' as a result.

As far as tools are concerned you will probably need a
selection of allen keys and probably an adjustable
wrench but I agree with you, get the shop to do it all,
a big wrench in your luggage will light up the airport
security metal detectors like a Dutch brothel. LOL

is it possible to just buy duch handlebars in amsterdam? and attach them to a normal bike here. i just hate the handlebars on mountain bikes. and thats what everyone cycles here. also i saw a realllllly cool bike on ebay, but im a little wary of ebay. i just dont get it! how can a top of the range bike be 3 quid? anyway, thanks!
