Son #1 is getting hitched! He has had two duds--one a total narcissist=1 narcissist=1 kid. Two-a liar, a thief, and druggie. ! Druggie-1 kid. He finally got together with a smart, good, hard working woman. The kids are good. They've rented a whole campground east of here (Eugene-Springfield) and have sent 150 invitations! (I don't know if I have met that many people in my life!!) Beer, a surf band is going to play and they are paying homage to Beatlejuice by various methods. People are coming from New York, Washington, California and Chicago. Much fun ahead, I believe. She is part Iranian, my daughter married an Aussie that is part aborigine, and son # 2 is married to a half Japanese girl, so we're getting an interesting mix going on all up in this family. So, that's the story here----whata'you got?
Is everyone going to campout at the campground? Sounds super to me, ENJOY! And WOW what a wonderfully international family you have, that's very interesting. You'd better try to get out and visit all the in-laws.
My friend had a similar wedding, the venue was also a campground and had cabins as well so just about everyone who came to the wedding camped. It was so much fun, definitely the best wedding ever. Just a huge two day party
Thanks folks. People came from Vermont, New Mexico, New York, Illinois, Florida, Washington, California and I'm sure other states that I am not aware of. I don't think I have ever seen a happier, friendlier bunch of people anywhere! Most of them were on the brides side of the family and many of them had not seen each other for years, so it was also a big family reunion. Same with our side. It is a beautiful spot waaay out in the country on a small road that is deep in the forest and was rented and reserved for the weekend. It was catered and the food was barbecue and smoked meats, salads and other food so that there was something for everyone. Beer, (kegs) , whiskey, wine and other beverages for the kids--from babies to teenagers. The band played loudly and well and my son joined in on guitar on several tunes --the leader of the band being one of three --including my son, that had started a band at 14 years old called Skumby. The bride looked beautiful , dressed like the lady in Beatlejuice, my son had an outfit like in the movie and the whole thing was fantastic. Later on , about a hundred people watched the movie in a little meadow and had a great time. All and all, it was a great and fun weekend and I have to say-----I'm looking forward to seeing son # 2 try to match this fine weekend if he and his lady decide to get hitched also. -------------Joel
