Why didn't god just settle his score with those people on his own?

    Okay, here is the conversation:
If you'll notice there is no request for "for some textual backing" or "to demonstrate your ability to show scriptural backing", you asked for "source", to which I replied "The Bible", a perfectly reasonable answer to the question "source?".

You then followed with this: "It is customary to include a chapter and verse... "
If you'll notice there still is no request for "for some textual backing" or "to demonstrate your ability to show scriptural backing", in fact it is not even a question but a statement about what is "customary", something you seem to imply never happened and it was to this statement about what is "customary" that I replied: Didn't know there were rules about it.

So to paraphrase you: Either you really weren't smart enough to realize what was really going on, or you just wanted to play games.

He did or do you think that one man killing 600 with a "cattle prod" is something a man could do with out help from God?

Perhaps you think that it's a perfectly reasonable answer, however, in most circles, citing the title of a book is not enough to qualify something as a source. Would you like me to explain why? I'm sorry that you assumed that I was stupid enough not to understand that the bible would be used to answer questions in a thread called bible questions where you claim to use the bible to answer questions. I'm also sorry that I assumed you were smart enough to understand my request.

Maybe so in the circles you run in but if I ask some one their "source" for a statement and they say "the World Book Encyclopedia" or "Webster's Dictionary" or "Wikipedia" etc, I would consider that a perfectly reasonable answer to the question and "customary". Now I could have hoped for more information but those answers, answer the question.

Now if I want more information after that I can ask for it, something you did not do. You then went off on a tangent talking about what is customary and I just answered in kind.

As for you being stupid, I'll leave that up to you to decide for your self but in this thread many "sources" have been used not just the Bible. There have even been a few quotes from the Quran, I believe.

As for your original question, the statement I had made is such an integral part of the Bible, I could literally quote the whole Bible in answer and so instead, just said the Bible was my "source", if you wanted more specifics, you could have just asked, instead of wasting time with this "stupid" line of "reasoning".

    Deuteronomy

24:4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD:

What is the purpose of making having sex or marrying a former wife an abomination?

If you thought it was a tangent, why would you respond in kind? Seems like a great way to join in:
