It is disturbing but it is expected... it really is miraculous that we still have the Bible intact.

It is trivial because it still focuses on his hands and feet.

I have read from some sources that the NWT isn't reliable but other sources have said that the NWT is a very true and accurate English version of the Bible... Even being very true to Greek words to the point where native Greek speaking persons would understanding the meaning of a word more clearly than Greek scholars and accept the NWT renderings.

Why can't Ka'ari be replaced with Karah V?

Whether the NWT is reliable or not is up to you to decide.

One of the things that bothers me about most translations is the removal the divine name. The tetragrammaton is replaced by LORD or GOD about 1500 times in the Hebrew Scriptures. So to me, from the get go, most translations start off wrong about 1500 times. So any translation that uses a proper name like Jehovah or Yahweh or Yehowah, something of that nature, seems to me to be more accurate than one that doesn't and the NWT is one that does. :D

Because Karah V is not the word originally used? ;)

That bothers me too. You'd think that God's name was some sort of insult to the translators or a curse, but Jehovah himself wants us to know his name.

    True... lol.

    Sorry Monkeyboy.

Kinda ignored what you said about Ka'ari otherwise I wouldn't have asked the question about Karah V.

As the Jews drew away from true worship they came to believe that if you never pronounced God's name then it would be impossible take up the name of God in a worthless way, so out of a inappropriate fear of God they stopped pronouncing God's name and when they came to the tetragrammaton they would say LORD or GOD and thus the proper pronunciation of the name was lost. Many translators have just followed that superstition or have felt that because the proper pronunciation was lost, there should be no attempt to use a reasonable facsimile.

But Jesus did say let God's name be known, so yes, as you say, God wants us to know his name and in English that name is usually translated as Jehovah. :D

I believe you misread what I said.

I said: Whether the NWT is reliable or not....... is up to you to decide.

In other words I was saying, that you can decide for yourself, if you feel the NWT is reliable or not. :D

Shouldn't we consider then an English translation to be sufficient for understanding?

For who? Maybe Hitler thought genocide was a holy obligation but that didn't come from God or the Bible.

You mean the Amalekites who were “the first one of the nations” to launch an unprovoked attack on the Israelites after the Exodus, at Rephidim near Mount Sinai. The ones who a year later, repulsed the Israelites when they attempted to enter the Promised Land. the ones who twice during the days of the Judges shared in assaulting Israel. Then again, with the Midianites and Easterners, they pillaged the land of Israel seven years before Gideon and his 300 men dealt them a smashing defeat.

These Amalekites who were "murdered" for no reason?
