Your thoughts on this video please. I believe this was a show in which troubled teens who thought they were hard get taken to prisons to try and knock some sense into them. Thisclip is fucking hilarious imo. Especially the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEBjIc-D_0A
Seems stupid. lol. Like, nothing is going to really happen to them? I guess they just gotta be scared like the title says But if he didn't do the pushups, I highly doubt the prison guy would have beat him up XD Honestly this just stapled a stereotypical view on black people. ROFL.
The orange peeling made me laugh. I reckon this tactic could go either way though. It could help some, but it could make some people worse. I don't agree with it.
Because all he really learned is that if he wants to be a gangbanger is he needs to do pushups and stop crying. Then he's a gangster. The guy told him "real Gs don't cry motherfuckin' homie" so he takes that home, doesn't cry..
i don't even have to review it to know that it is an inappropriate response to perceived behavior. An error doesn't correct itself by responding in fear, it only represses natural expression. Instead of pulling kids apart and telling them to share what obviously cannot be divided, let them discover for themselves how to handle themselves with each other at their synchronous stage of development. What is happening is adults are trying to force children to respond to an adult standard that they are not even close to appreciating. We possess the innate wisdom of a creature that has been here for a long time and we don't respect that for the sake of artificially imposed demands. We are crushing the innate sense of our developing children and so the reason we find ourselves confused about our station in the world as adults. Mind fucking programming has to cease.
I'm wondering where that kid came from. It could be he has no way to escape what's happening to him in his life. He might of only learned how much harder he needs to get now. The only way that scared straight stuff could possibly work is if he actually has a positive direction available to him.
You made me think of the term "meat market"...well, actually, I thought of that a little earlier here.....with my "next" comment before.
I have seen these things before. It is actually the opposite way to deal with a troubled teen. How about some love and guidance? Find out what the real problem is? Remove him from his environment/influence. So many better ways. Of course, couldn't make entertaining videos for the public to witness, now the teen has to live that video down for years to come.
What a horrible idea. Can't watch the clip... I can see from the corner that A&E should be ashamed - not that I'd normally watch any of their crap, anyway.
