those are all 'deathcore' bands, which is the shitty derivative little brother of metalcore. i dont think btbam is trendy. if they were, they would write shitty deathcore like job for a cowboy instead of complicated prog jams. theyre doing what they want. evolving is not at all the same thing as being 'trendy.' to be trendy is to sacrifice artistic integrity for the sake of popular acceptance.
in a perfect world this would be true but its really more like metal + chugga chugga most of the time
not really....... shadows fall.......killswitch dont come off as hardcore can u post a hardcore band for me?

Sounds like he's saying that but if you read between the lines (especially in similar posts by same member) it actually says he's one of the many persons who isn't capable of looking objective to music. Ah well, mainly music he dislikes. My experience with bands or (sub)genres I don't like is that it seems uninteresting for me (because it simply does not appeal to me) so I tend to ignore it. This is also the reason why I didnt post in this particular thread before Anyway, I guess I just liked to point out the silliness of focussing your attention on something you actually do not enjoy at all by annoying people who do enjoy it by expressing of how dumb you find it and the opinion that it should disappear (which probably seems like a righteous metal crusade but actually has only use to point out your focussing on the trivial aspects of music).
I'm giving them a more thorough listen right now. When they ease up on the Cookie Monster vocals theydo have interesting arrangements. The shifting moods/genres almost remind me of a less complex Frank Zappa or Mr. Bungle without the humor. I can appreciate it but it wouldn't be my first choice go to music. But I think that is also because I'm a 34 year old hippie. But you still find Metal in my music collection. I dolike it better when the singer actually sings. Peace Out, Rev J
Dude, Symphony X are so bad, mainly the vocals. I can't get past how awfully cheesy they sound. Anyways, BTBAM are annoying, I like some parts, hate a lot of parts, and overall really don't care too much about them.
