Broken Trail with Robert Duvall is a really good flick, theres just so many to chose its an impossible question for me. But The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance ranks pretty high on the list, The Searchers, Outlaw Josey Wales, really to tough to answer.
Oh, my favorite western is either The Searchers or The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. I forgot this thread wasn't just about the best cowboy.
I'm not a huge western fan but first off The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is one of the only 2 movies (the other is Apocolypse Now) that if I'm channel surfing I will stop and watch from any point in the movie. Second off if you think that Italian westerns are badass Check out their Horror movies and their Film Noirs. For Horror check out Suspiria by Dario Argento who also wrote the story that became Once a Time in the West. For Film Noir (or Giallo) check out Tenebre also by Argento. Plus his daughter is the Hot chick from the movie Triple X with Vin Diesal.
How about these four. The Stalking Moon The Long Riders The Proposition And the one with Richard Farnsworth(R.I.P.) as a career train robber. I can't remember the name of it. But it's a good one.
My favorite has to be Clint I mean I was raised with that cat's movies. My fav movie is The Outlaw Josey Wales. Wife hates westerns tho
Two good Terrence Stamp movies; TRINITY IS MY NAME and TRINITY IS STILL MY NAME. They are great if you are loaded.
