i have metal of honor "what a joke compare to Call of duty" battlefield 1942 i like much better however after playing COD i gave it away. i thing BF 1942 did have was the joystick option COD lacks that . maybe part 2 well have but i dont think flying airplanes is in call of duty plans. on BF 1942 flying over the island was way to fast and the island way to small not much fun flying unless you were attacking a ship.
Unreal Tournament is great how ever every body that knew about call of duty either got it or stop playing medal of honor and started playing COD. war type game is call of duty in multiplayer that is. i love unreal tournament but your brain frys if you try to stay up with the game WAY TO FAST. this is my own taste but i only buy games if they are going to be great online multiplayers . i never play the single maybe once after i beat the machine once.
what made bf 1942 stand out and influential is that it was the first game to really have the atmosphere of a huge war... people could go against eachother on huge 16 vs 16 battles, with the ability to drive tanks, fly, boats... basically do everything... and now developers are making games based off what BF 1942 started... with a lot of the next gen consoles we'll be seeing games get huger and huger with more people playing in one game... we can be lookin to play games like bf 1942 now with much better graphics, bigger worlds, better physics, and huge battles of over 60 people going at it at once in a huge war game.
is there a counterstrike demo ? i still hate modern bullshit and base on something that really never happen .
CoD didnt have as big of battles as bf 1942, and limited use of planes boats and the like.. i twas more of the typical fps, while bf 1942 was about capturing spawn points and had more atmosphere of a huge war.
i had the game . yes i agree but things were not right and soldiers dont move around as greacefull as in cod . in metal of honor they look like walking stiff zombies. have you play united offensive it blows away 1942 the only thing it lacks planes and boats but is a fair trade for more life size soldiers than small little ants like 1942.
but 1942 was the first one to have such a massive atmosphere besides 1942 was all about the mods anyway.
Well counterstrike's not for everyone...it's not just a pick up and play shooter. It takes a while to learn how to control the recoil of the different guns. Aside from that though, what's not to like?
the first i agree . mod wise you prob need a 300GB hard drive for all the mods and custom maps for COD matter of fact in death match "not my favor" is just plain rediculus the amount of mods.
I've played plenty of unreal tournament. Good game and all, but not my favorite, and thats what this thread is about.
woo hoo my favourite game looks like it may be getting re-made for Playstation 3..... check out the tech video http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/finalfantasyvii/index.html
Thats really not true, bf:1942 was still the most popular game around before bf:v hit the shelves, including the mods. Battlefield 1942 had a horrible engine for fps and playing inside buildings, it was mainly designed for land vehicle and air combat. i have been following the Battlefield 2 development closely and they are releasing a completely new engine with amazing graphics, the fps isnt laggy anymore, and vehicles are just amazingly insane now. Im tired, been up sense 10am and just ran for 3-4 blocks.
1942 rarely ever lagged for me, man. 1942 influenced a lot of the massive nex gen console games, they are building off of what 1942 tried to do when they wanted full scale war.
