What is the best torrent client? I had always used utorrent but know someone who is a software developer who says that you are more likely to be caught torrenting by your ISP by using utorrent and that bitcomet is safer?

Anyone know why that would be the case or does it even make any difference?

I use utorrent and never had a problem downloading anything.
Why would you be concerned about being caught or tracked? Torrenting isn't always music and cinema/tv, you could just you were downloading photos of the Amazon =D

BitTorrent works perfectly for me. I'd recommend it.

I do think some ISPs are more strict than others. These days I just try to download it as fast as possible then stop seeding it. I also think some torrents are put up as bait so that when you use them you get caught.

When I used Windows I used uTorrent. I had some extra plugins I'd run once or twice a week to 'blacklist' known "bad" ip addresses.

Now (in Linux) I use qBittorrent. Haven't had any issues, but I generally use magnetic links instead of torrents.
