Probably already been posted, but I liked the movie 1969 with Kiefer Sutherland, & Robert Downey Jr. There are lots of others (most already very popular)I enjoyed too.

Whats up people. I've been collecting drug movies in general for awhile and I found this thread and decided to make it par of my collective.

I pulled a good dozen movies some this threat I need to add to my collection. Unfortunately it's not organized yet or I'd just make a complete list. I think my favorite right now is Pick of Destiny. I love the music and the overall comedy. Before that Grandma's Boy was my fav and before that Half-Baked was my favorite. I didn't like Dazed and Confused much, it just reminded me of all the people I didn't like in high school. While some people think of their stoner days and high school as one in the same, I don't particularity associate weed with high school much, so I enjoy movies from the more adult perspective than say Almout Famous or Dazed and Confused, but I think a lot of people watched to movies as teens or young adults and have attachments to that time and therefore relate to the movie better.

However, a few movies worth mentioning on here that haven't been are.

Weeds (the showtime series) while lame in some aspects their depection of the grow setups and such are on the money

Grandma's Boy - many people haven't seen this. It's Happy Gilmore production, and if that wasn't good enough it has that hot girls from Freak and Geeks in it and a Karatee Monkey. Awesome film and modern so you don't have to worry about it losing the younger generation.

Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiney - another completely awesome movie, filled with weed references, random idiocy and Jack Black showing off his music talents along with Dave Groel from Foo Fighters.

Jackie Brown - not a major stoner movie, but the chick on the couch is really smoking REAL weed as per her own claim.

Evil Bong - I haven't watch this one but I think it has Jack Black

Bongwater - Another, not so amazing film, but it's about a weed dealer.

Don't Look Back - not a drug movie, but perhaps some of the most casual scenes you'll see a young Bob Dylan in, before he became so anti-media.

The Doors - probably qualifies as a drug movie and some people like it a lot.

Rolling Kansas - I'm surprised noone else mentioned this one. This is def a stoner movie, though not the king of stoner movies.

Also you guys completelt missed the Friday Triology

Friday, Next Friday and Friday After Next. These movies have plenty of weed in them, some classic lines and some brand names actors.

The Tripper - not so much a real stoner movie, but a horror movie set in a festival/camp out. They do an ok job are recreating the festival setting, so I'll mention that one.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - off the wall movie about several interlated gangs in the UK or somewhere in Europe. Not bad, but more action/violent than pure stoner movie.

    Other random drug movies

One Perfect Day, Drugstore Cowboy, Mallrats, Puff Puff Pass, Repo Man, Sid and Nancy, A scanner Darkly, Slackers, True Romance

here is a good wikipedia list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_drug_films, but I have yet to see most of those films.

HBO makes awesome documentaries on drugs, but they are not happy feel good stuff. High on Crack Street, Black Tar Heroin, Dope Love are all worth watching if you like to see that kind of stuff first hand, but not a happy stoner movie.

A lot of people went for easy rider, but it really didn't do much for me.
There are also more Cheech and Chong movies than just the ones listed here and all are worth watching at least once.

For a good research tool imdb.com lets you look up movies by keywords or the actors who played in them. So you can snag all the movies from your favorite stoner actors.

Hmm you also need a better text entry form on this forum because my firefox auto spell checker function is not worknig in this yellow form entry box thang.

If someone has the time compilnig these movies into one big list would be way helpful for people looking up this topic. Though reading them thread by thread was fun for me, I doubt most peopel will.

I gotta say the trip scene from Pick of Destiny when Jack Black eat's the mushroom was pretty awesome. Borat doesn't really involve getting stoned but was a great movie to watch when ur in that state of mind. i didn't read through everyone's post, but i'm going to post something i think is original by saying that Bongwater is at the very least a seriously underrated stoner movie. i really liked Homegrown, except for the end, and anything by Wes Anderson is good to bake to.

Gotta agree with the mushroom part in The Pick of Destiny, that was just strait up trippy! Also I think that Pan's Labyrinth was an amazing story and also incredibly trippy. Oh just remembered I saw The Simpson's movie stoned and that was pretty good too. I plan on seeing Across the Universe this weekend stoned, I'm pretty sure that will turn out well!

I despised the use of subtitles in Pan's Labrynth b/c there was already so much going on visually.

I would have say pretty much any movie is pretty awesome to watch stoned, even if its just because its so bad its funny. But as far as the category "stoner movie" goes, definitely Fear and Loathing or Dazed and Confused have to take the cake. Even though Fear and Loathing is pretty over the top, there are many times in both of those movies when you just have to say to yourself "yep, thats truly how it is when you're on drugs."

    Renaissance.
It's a beautiful and intelligent modern black and white animation movie set in the future. Hard to follow, but mindblowing.

    The Science of Sleep.
A Spanish/French movie about a guy who tries to make sense of his dreams, very trippy dream scenes.
