What are some of your favourite programmes on the telly?
Some of these programmes are no longer on the air but that doesn't matter.

Inspector Morse (John Thaw, Kevin Whatley)
    Prime Suspect (Helen Mirren)
As Time Goes By (Judi Dench, Geoffrey Palmer)
Are You Being Served? (Frank Thornton)
Vexed (season one) [Toby Stepehns, Lucy Punch)

A Touch of Frost was good. There is Still Game. Chewing the Fat. Rabb which was just plain obnoxious but on occasion amusing. Keeping Up Appearances, A Bit of Fry & Laurie, and of course Monty Python.

I'm watching a Netflix show called "White Lines" in which most of the actors are British while the others are presumably Spanish or of Hispanic descent. It's sort of a drawn out murder mystery. I like it because it takes place in Ibiza; arguably the most popular club destination in the world for those on the international club circuit (of which I am not because I'm not absolutely keen on traveling; particularly when it's over seas).

Such a pity that the last series was never shot, due to Patricia Routledge pulling out. She was afraid that being type cast would damage her future career.

Another brilliant series from Roy Clarke, who also wrote Keeping Up Appearances and Open All Hours.
Both he and John Sullivan (Only Fools And Horses) died last year,

I was in the UK for 9 weeks last year. I found day time repeats more entertaining than prime time TV although some documentaries on Channel 5 were interesting. My list of what is not already mentioned includes:
    1. The Singing Detective. I was speechless after watching this show for the first time. The second of a musical trilogy, the others , Pennies From Heaven and Lipstick on You Collar being required viewing but not in the same league.
    2. Silent Witness.
    3. Minder.
    4. The Bill. This started out as a gritty realism drama but later descended into a soap with the odd dramatic moment. I liked the way WPC Polly Page would say " Nuffink Sarge".
    5. The Sweeney.
    6. Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit.
    7. Z-Cars.
    8 . The Avengers.
    9. Yes Minister /Yes Prime Minister.
    10. Rumpole.
