for the type of music they play, some of the best male voices would be Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young and Bob Dylan. They may not have a good voice over all but its part of their sound and everyone can agree they have some of the best sound of all time and any other voice would just have messed it all up
Three pages and nobodies mentioned Freddie Mercury!! Maybe people won't agree, but I think hes got the most phenomenal voice in rock history... I would kill to be able to sing like him. Freddie gets the No1 spot for me, but then its got to be Jeff Buckley.
Seriously, my favourite male singers are: John Lennon Liam Gallagher Ray Davies Robert Plant I also like Kurt Cobain's voice
I think there are alot of great male singing voices out there. But these are the ones that really give me a dazzeled feeling: Jeff Buckley Tim Buckley (it runs in the family) George Harrison Jim Morisson Robert Plant Chris Cornell and (ofcourse) the great Chet Baker.
Tim & Jeff Buckley Chris Cornell Serj Tankian Chris Isaac Bob and Ziggy Marley Paul Simon Elvis Keith Whitley Robert Plant and I am stoked to see other Buckley fans I have been since 1994!
Marvin Gaye + Al Green for pure sensuality Sam Cooke + Ray Charles as fathers of soul Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennet for standards BB King, Bobby Bland, Robert Cray for singing the blues Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Paul Simon for great songs + such distinctive voices
Maynard James Keenan (tool-APC) Stevie Wonder Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) Chris Cornell (Sound Garden/audioslave) Barry White Robert Plant
