Good day...im not a veggy per say. Just a guy trying to clean up his diet.

Any ways Wondering what people use as ground beef subsitute for spaghetti sauce ,chilli etc. Stuff I've been cooking has been better without the meat substitutes I've tried.

    ----

Speaking spaghetti sauce. I used to make a sauce using hot Italian sausage instead of ground beef....way to fattening lol. I just use a blend of fennel seed, star anise, garlic, black pepper, paprika, and red chilis for the same flavour.

ground mushrooms. take portobellos and rough chop them through a food processor, or through a meat grinder. I'm a hard carnivore, and I'll happily eat a portobello 'steak'

In saucy stuff, lentils will do the trick about 90 percent of the time.
