i love saucerful of secrets, but i have to say, 'a momentary lapse of reason' is my favourite in terms of the whole album being completely amazing. i love all the watery sounds in it. i can put it on stay put until the record has finished, completely engrossed in all the sounds; it's like my brain expands each time. so good!

if you haven't seen it, get their 'live in pompeii' dvd - brilliant!!!!

Any psychedelic album by the boys.....actually, any album EXCEPT the OVERRATED "The Wall".....I can safely say that :)

Dark side of the Moon - I just love how it flows, and Wish you were here for it's content.

pointless question. theirs no such thing as best. each is amazing in their own way. my personal favorite is obscured by clouds

many people talk about dark side of the moon.
but i know few of those people
even grasp the power of that album.
it is one of the strongest most mindful albums ive ever experainced under lsd.
if i hear any song just one. just the start, hell even typing about it sends chills up my back.
thats some serious business dark side of the moon.
    i wish i could share.
    some may know.

    animals is pretty intense too.

The Wall. There was even a movie made about it. Its the most visually stunning artwork of our time. It will grasp your emotions and pull you in.. You don't even have to be high. :]

I know right. If people only knew what the lead singer went through.. Thats exactly how he saw the world through his eyes in the movie itself. I was like that at one time.. Comfortably numb makes me think of the time I overdosed myself.. Such a sad and beautiful song at the same time.

Most of the Pink Floyd's albums are amazing. It's not easy to choose, but for me the best album is "Wish You Were Here".

I've never really cared much for Meddle... I don't know why it seems to be the album of choice for so many people. I like Fearless a lot but San Tropez and Seamus are pure filler, and not very interesting.

Then again, it's hard to pick just one... they're all really good (at least before Roger Waters left-- the new stuff is godawful... strictly for middle-aged yuppie adults from 1984).

Here's my top 3 right now:

    1. Piper At The Gates of Dawn
    2. The Wall
    3. Dark Side Of The Moon

I also really like Atom Heart Mother and Ummagumma-- but they've all got fantastic atmosphere.

I agree, meddle is hit and miss and with only 6 songs the miss is about 1/2 the album.

Probably dark side but the wall is right there.

Why try to "argue" over the best?
Get rid of those superlatives :p

Whatever, the very one that makes me cry is Dark Side of the Moon.

I think Wish you were here, The Final Cut, Meddle, Animals, The Wall... The Division Bell..ag..
Man i've got them all and i love them all. The first album with Syd Barret is rather different. with a Beatles feel to it, the more classical i rate.
=] Im so sorry they lost Barret.
Im a huge fan of Pink Floyd
