Best comedian ever?

I could watch any John Candy movie and laugh my ass off

3. Rodney Dangerfield

 

Rodney Dangerfield & George Carlin have been my faves for YEARS. All I have to do is see Rodney doing that "shifty-leg" thing - like he's trying to shake a turd out of his pants leg ...... and I'm rolling. Classic married guy / working-stiff comedy. Carlin and his "burnt-out" fascial expressions while offering RAZOR SHARP comedy ....... priceless. The Hippie-Dippy Weatherman.

Just thought of another quirky guy - Steven Wright. Weird perspectives on things ...... but funny as hell.

 

Bob Hope had 32 writers on his staff at one time, and it showed. Its not the comedian, its their writers, while I'd have to say Jay Leno is probably one of the best comics out there today, who actually writes his own material.

 

Bob Hope is the most overrated comedian of all time! I am a big fan of Jack Benny!

 

Dave Allen - a very funny man !!!

Used to like Carlin, but saw him in Vegas toward the end of his career and he was horrible. Not funny, forgot his jokes and had to back up and repeat stuff when he lost his place.

The funniest I’ve seen in person was Buddy Hacket. We also like Ron White. Dangerfield was great too

 

Still not a patch on Dave Allen. !!!

Bob Hope. There is a difference between a comedian and a comic actor. Chaplin was a comic actor, Carlin was a comedian. Bob Hope was one of the few who was both a comedian and a comic actor.
