I love Bicentennial Man You dont get that many stories that are basically love stories over a dozen decades. Even if he does actually end up boning the grandaughter of a girl he babysat when she was 6, which on paper is pretty weird
Dustin Hoffman is not in the poll and I hate to vote for OTHER and explain my vote so I voted for Adam Sandler (who would also stand after Sly on my personal list)
There's only one John Wayne, need I say more, Duke to his friends. A real legend for others to follow.
Did I hear something about Kirk Douglas? Oh. Is that Michael Douglas' dad? Well, I have been taking a break from movies to binge-watch TV on Netflix. If pressed on favorite actors I reach for a familiar name first - Brad Pitt or something... who's the first person I think of. But if I really had to sit and think and pick only one I suppose I enjoy James Bond and think Daniel Craig does him well.
Yea but John Wayne essentially played the same character in all his films. Anthony Hopkins played a totally different character in Silence of the Lambs to what he did in The Remains of the Day. Daniel Day Lewis also played a totally different character in Gangs of New York to what he did in My Left Foot.
But then John Wayne was John Wayne he was the character, he may have seemed the same but all very different, but then he was a legend and legends don't die.
There are far too many who I would regard as actors who deserved recognition. Henry Fonda, Michael Redgrave, Laurance Olivier, Jack Hawkins, to name but four of a very long list.
Shout out to John Hurt, Naked Civil servant, Alien crew member Elephant man (and TV 'War' Doctor and part of the Caligula cast)
What? Where are Robert De Niro, Joaquin Phoenix, Jeff Bridges, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins, Tommy Lee Jones...?
