Which is more effective, hydrocortizone or diphenhydramine (benadryl) cream?
My knees were itching from dry skin i guess so i put one type of cream on each knee and they both worked pretty quickly but I think the knee i used the benadryl cream on worked better. But it could have been that i used more on that knee because it seems not as thick and easier to spread.

Which is really more effective tho? I know for one thing, when you're dealing with opiate itch after doing some dope that neither one is effective. You would think after using both types of cream and scratching it down into your skin really good it would work but nope. At least it feels good to scratch the itch ;)

Ice. Trick the nerves. Do really cold first and if that doesn't work do really hot. After hot put some kind of moisturizer on it. Olive Oil from the kitchen is great.

I don't know, but I have found that Benadryl in pill form, as a sleep aid, sucks donkey dick.

Benedryl cream and hydrocortisone cream are more for allergic rashes.

Yeah, I get that. That's why I said in pill form. But Benadryl in ANY form can be used to treat allergic rashes since it's the same drug but in different form. What I said was simply an aside.

i suppose different types of itches respond better to one or the other.

idk why they don't make a cream that has both hydrocortizone AND diphenhydramine .. i mean neither one are under patent but you could probably patent the mixture.

I get heat rashes and stuff when I'm pregnant....anyways I don't know which topically works between but I know Benadryl in pill form does help with allergies so what I've been doing lately is taking a Benadryl pill and putting hydrocortisone cream on it topically.

for dry skin, lotion seems to work wonders.

for allergic itches like bug bites, the best option is to ignore it and it will go away pretty quickly.

for dope itch, i have no idea. doing more dope probably?

i think they should combine the two ingredients that way if one didn't work the other one would. i know i'm not the only one that's thought of that before. i mean, pharmaceutical companies are ambitious, there must be some reason. maybe they think they can make more money selling them seperately

i do not currently posses either of these. i do however have several circular 'bars' of caffeine contact paw print soap, which i find washing with generally removes bacterial sources of itching for a considerable duration.

I just buy whatever is on sale at Safeway. Seems like there's not much difference (IMO).
