Unless you shot up weed and used your belt to cut off circulation to make your veins more evident, I dont understand at all why they would take it, other than the fact of a pig being a pig.
Be careful about this and definatly talk to a lawyer before going to court. Are you being charged with more than one count of paraphenalia? I'm not sure about multiple counts within the same incident, but the second charge of paraphenelia is an automatic felony in the U.S. Your best bet is to try and get them to drop the paraphenelia charge if you plead guilty to possesion...thats what they did for me. If you were older they probably wouldn't have taken your belt buckle, because it isn't illegal. But when people are young, they most likely don't know their rights and the cops can make them believe anything is illegal. They've done it to me and my friends on many occations, but I now know my rights along with the cops rights...and have avoided many charges because of knowing them.
