I've tried virtually all my life to improve. People pre-judge me. Their minds are already made up before conversation ever even happens. This is why I have trouble making friends, much less girlfriends. Then, these people have the nerve to tell me that there will be a "special someone" for me one day. It reminds me of the wacko belief that Jesus will return to Eart some day. It's magical thinking. It really is.
Well those sayings do sound like thoughtless regurgitations however I don't think the situation is that comparable to the magical thinking of the religious variety. I mean if you live in a large city, you probably have what, several thousands of women to potentially date? If you are in a rural area, it might be more difficult but regardless, there are people around.
Dude you got (at least) two threads going that revolve around how much your life sucks. I'm starting to think you're throwing a pity party for yourself. Are you grateful for anything? Anything at all? I'm 47 and have had a rough life. I'd give anything to be 25 again and do some things over. Even so, I realize most people on the planet today have had it far worse than me, and I'm truly grateful for the things I have. Are you? I have no idea if love is in the cards for you, it never happened for me, but I can guarantee you will be miserable until you change your attitude. I'm thankful I'm an American, educated, employed, fed, medicated and healthy. Start naming some things you are thankful for and stop whining about what you don't have.
Who are these people who keep trying to talk to you? Are they the same ones who are making snap judgements and run off before ever giving you a chance? Or do they get a taste of your attitude first? I wont even say personality because i find your willingnesss to self depreciate amusing, and amusing always interests me. Your attitude though, but hey you admit that...
Nothing. Anyone I have ever come across in my life. Everyone treats me the same. I can find no one who thinks me worth a fraction of their time. In fact, just the opposite. They are repulsed. Anyway, I'm mainly getting at the people who belief in "true love" or say things like "There's someone for everyone" or "your true love is waiting" or "you will find someone some day". I think these are myth-based beliefs that are similar in nature to religious beliefs.
