I also have a distaste for superficial interaction, don't get me wrong. But I'm not beyond playing around with it and studying it. It's not central. Not something I spend hours at a time trying, but something that fascinates me nevertheless.

And I do have problems picking up chicks of a certain persuasion. Outside of my audience. And that is not good for my ego. :hah33:

 

Well, yeah. It's all a sad story. Superficial cross-gender relations are a sad story.

UNLESS, it's not serious. Just a game like pool or darts. Sometimes the women know you're trying to pick 'em up and they go for it anyway. 'Cause they want to play the game.

Finally, there is no difference between pick up games and what a lot of women do.

I know, we all play our games. you could say everything one does is a game. what I resent is it being turned into an exploitative and supposedly multi-million dollar industry. but I understand it, anything and everything is commodified.

what am I saying? I don't just resent it being an industry. I resent men being turned into competition and women being turned into conquests. and contrived mannerisms serving only to pick up chicks.
most of all, I resent girls shallow enough to fall for any of this rubbish.

I don't think you are going to get us to change our minds on this. Many of us here have picked up chicks without needing a multimillion dollar industry to back us up.

I personally enjoy the mysticism of what is naturally inside me coming out, using natural instinct, and I think its absolutely pathetic that people pay money to be taught how to pick up chicks...but thats me and my life.


At least you won't change my mind. I see it as a classless endeavor that happens in the type of clubs that i wouldn't even go into because they are cheesy meat market places, and thats also why I don't feel sorry for your victims.

I never seduce any of my friends girls either, although I did ruin a friendship between two girls because they both liked me. I got involved with one and after that they were not seeing eachother anymore. I encouraged them to stay friends, but somehow things were already ruined.

I hope I was worth it.

 

That's cool but, again I think it still comes from a place of zero understanding especially if you don't think it works just as well in a church as it does in a club. To each their own.

 

Heres another thing. what if you go into a place and there are a guy and girl talking, you roll up and start your routine, drive the guy away..then what?

Maybe she was going to have an actual relationship with the guy, you roll in drive him off, and for what, are you gonna get to know her and be something positive to her, or are you gonna be out again the next night doing the routine?

If you are actually trying to have any type of relationship at all, and this shit works like you say it does, then you must suck at it?

 

I suck at keeping shit together after the fact. Relationships have always been my true sticking point. Also, what's wrong with having options? I don't have sex with every woman I pick up. I spark up great friendships and have made cool connections. I never lead girls on or anything of that nature. We have a saying(and you're gonna hate me for saying this because it seems hypocritical), leave the woman better off than she was when you met her.

 

it's a community of men who trying to hone their picking-up-chicks skills, right? I'm fine with that, except when it becomes manipulative and misleading. it just isn't my thing. I want a girl I like to like me for me, not because I said and did the right things.

and I somehow doubt all women fall for this stuff. I know some gals love to be objectified and become another scalp hanging from the belt of some pick-up artist, but there must be a few exceptions.

 

Ok the 1st thing you said I understand completely. Respect. The thing about it is, all girls fall for it because they are the ones who invented it. It's really a woman steps to courtship. Every relationship in the history of life besides mail order or arranged marrages have gone through the steps. That all I'm trying to say.
