Absolutely!Give me a joint any day of the week! :afro: It runs in my family too, REALLY sucks. I don't drink to get drunk very often, usually just a beer or two (real ale is my favourite, but you can't beat a nice Stella Artois or glass of dark rum either, or wine lol) and then I help it along with a joint. I much prefer that mellow buzz you get combining the two, makes me less obnoxious as well lol
I can relate for sure. Sobering up while still awake SUCKS. If I start drinking during the day, I need to keep drinking til' its time to go to bed or else I have this shitty anxiety/shaky/depressed feeling when I'm sobering up. Getting drunk during the day and then stopping late afternoon and having supper sucks. By the time 7-8 comes around, you feel like crap. Pot helps quite a bit with this by the way.
Definitely. Yesterday I went out for lunch. I had a beer at lunch then a glass of wine when I got home around 3:30. Although I didn't have a buzz, I got really restless and time seemed to pass super slow for the rest of the day. Speaking only for myself I've noticed lately that alcohol has too many strings attached for me to really be able to enjoy it. Getting drunk has many strings attached, some are obviously shitty. But even having a drink or two in the afternoon or early evening doesn't seem worth it to me if the rest of my day/night is going to be dragged out and restless. On the other hand, it makes bicycle rides a little more fun.
Hmm, I seem to be the opposite. If I fall asleep/pass out before sobering up and drinking plenty of water on the "comedown" I will yak my guts up for 24-48 hours upon waking. I still get hangovers, but I absolutely must be relatively sober before going to sleep to avoid puking at the sight of bright colors or turning my head too fast the next day. I don't mind the "comedown" period at all. I usually take a relaxing shower, put on comfy PJs, eat some yummy food and drink lots of water & juice, cuddle with my kitties and watch some TV until I feel OK to fall asleep. As long as I go through this routine, I will get by with a "functional" hangover (read: able to get out of bed without puking, even showing up for work on most occasions) no matter how much I drank the night before. It's interesting how severe dehydration causes me to puke continuously for a day or two, therefore further dehydrating me since I can't even keep water down...
I agree with you. Sobering up while still awake is awful. But I noticed (for me anyway) that if I let myself sober up a little bit and just deal with the effects of it, I wake up feeling much more rested and better the next day.
As soon as I realized and accepted it was the booze I started feeling better about it. I remember everytime I was hung over before I always fell into like ''OMG I have depression'' or ''OMG I have an anxiety disorder''. After a few days, I would always be back to normal. As soon as I made that link, I decided to promise myself not to make any self-diagnosis' about any mental illnesses if I've been drinking recently. It's working well! lol ON that note, has anyone experienced an MDMA comedown? Would you say it's worse than booze?
I don't find the MDMA crash worse than booze. The MDMA crash is usually a feeling of being listless and things are dull. If you get Ecstasy pills cut with some stimulant your jaw can be pretty sore as well in the morning but I don't really feel sick from an MDMA crash like I do booze.
I rather enjoy the regular hangover. Heavy hangovers suck any way of course. Sobering up/coming down sucks as well but I'm mostly avoiding that by just keep going til I call it a night.
lol hell yes! I love riding my bike to have a couple of drinks and riding back with a buzz. That actually helps me beat the shitty comedown feeling, I guess because the exercise helps metabolize the alcohol faster. Its just as bad in a different way. I've only tried it a couple of times, and i've only tried coke once, and I've taken adderall too many times, and to me all three of those drugs produce a similiar comedown. My body starts to crash before my mind so I end up just laying in bed feeling like shit, staring at the wall and overthinking things for hours before I eventually fall asleep.
Entirely different things, but drinking heavily is as good a way as any to ward off an MDMA or speed comedown. That's if you haven't got any benzos of course. As for all this talk of cannabis relieving any sort of comedown - Fuck that, I like a spliff as much as anyone, but when you're rattling weed'll just make it worse.
And benzos, I've got! I know what I'll be taking if I pound some E for sure! But I probably won't be, cause it seems all E is bullcrap nowadays. I dont want to be eating meth or any shit like that.
Yer a lucky twat with yer benzos lol. Just to keep this on topic being the beverages section, remember temazepam juice, ie liquid temazepam. Crazy shit that was. We'll not see stuff like that again & on balance it's probably for the best.
They are a script and I barely ever use them actually. I probably wouldn't in this case either, but it's good to know that if I take E and feel like a bum's nutsack the next day, I'll have the appropriate treatement.
A drink or two is generally good for me...I don't like getting drunk. On the rare occasion that I do, I usually regret it. I do like to have a beer though. it warms my belly and gets me giddy, and as long as I stop at one or two I don't have a yucky feeling when it wears off.
