A couple of hours usually, it goes away faster if you satisfy the munchies. I understand the whole being paranoid thing. I don't smoke nearly as much as I used to, went from an ounce a week to maybe once a week. My wife hasn't smoked any at all, not since we found out she was pregnant 10 months ago. I admit it does help with the stress levels.

Thank you all of you for your advice. For me I think it would take one hit and i'd be okay, before we found out we were pregnant i'd usually take maybe two hits and i'd have a pretty good buzz going on, now I think one would be good. I thought that Skye had thrush and took him to the doc's today and he told me that my hubby and I are doing a good job at what we are doing. He weighs 9lbs 15oz and is 22inches long. I was so afriad that my breast milk wasn't good for my little man, becasue almost everytime he would get done eating he would puke up old milk and new milk that he had just got done eating and the doctor told me that if he pukes from one end of the room to the other side then be worried, and not to quit breastfeeding. Im so glad that my husband and I have made such a sweet creation of life.

mine were always puking machines too... Next time you feed him notice if he lets a little air in around your breast and his mouth... maybe hes sucking in air too and creating bubbles which could bring that milk back up? Or maybe try some different burping positions. I know with my youngest Noah he seemed to puke more if I layed him acrossed my lap to burp him and not too bad when I put him on my shoulder. Mine spit up after every meal but grew strong and big and never had problems. I'm sure Skye will too. :) If you ever want to talk go ahead and PM me. I know how you feel about being so worried. With my first I was fine but with my second for some reason I was so scared I wasn't doing anything right. I have no idea how the new baby is going to be! eek.

Mine always puked alot too. I think it's very common for a newborn nurser to spit up alot :)

Another thing that helps for me is to remember that things will be different when babe turns 3 mo, 6 mo, 12 mo, 18 mo. ya know. babes are ALWAYS changing so you can pretty much garentee that his behaivor (at any age) will be totally different in a few short months fom now LOL Enjoy the pee and let it just become part of your memory of this part of your life.

    :)
