Absolutely true. There is a lot to say about Rat, but he sure knows his beer culture. Most Belgian (and Dutch for that matter) beers have special glasses in which their beer tastes the best. Making beer is an art and the glass is a big part of that. Duvel is best enjoyed in a Duvel glass: If you go to any bar here and order a 'special' beer you will get the correct glass with it. Only common tap beers like Heineken and Bavaria will be poured in any regular glass.
It's the same way at a lot of the tap rooms here, but like I said I don't have a collection of specialty glasses. It was my first time even trying the stuff, and I will say that even in a standard pint glass it was very good.
Fair enough, even though I drink special beers occasionally I don't have all their specialty glasses. Maybe just about 7-8 of them, so sometimes gotta take what's available.
I'm drinking some 1664 blanc tonight. I never drink this, but I picked it up 'cause I felt like drinkin' something light.
I went back to the beer store today and picked up a few more bottles. Most of these are foreign, with the exception of the two from the right, which are domestic craft brews.
on my second troegenator tonite, woohoo. i was about to say that i hate to hear people call me a beer snob when i comment on the fact that they havnt tried anything other than bud, coors or miller. and then they turn around and say they dont like beer. then i realized none of those people that say they dont like beer call me a beer snob because they dont know what a beer snob is because they think beer is just another overproduced beverage by some faceless conglomerate.
