Ah, might be hard to find here then. Although I do know Duvel and I do drink it occasionally. Over here it's considered a 'good weather' beer, being a blond beer and reasonably high percentage of alcohol.
Ommegang is very big in Belgium, actually (or so I hear). Ommegang's beers are considered to be comparable to the best Belgian-brewed ales. They are basically a Belgian brewery that just happens to be based in the US.
I am kinda curious now, so next time I see a beer menu and there is an Ommegang I will definately order one. But since there are so many beers in Belgium I might have had it before and forgot. And living near the Belgian border we get many Belgian beers here in my area too. In a 50 km radius I know about at least 5 huge international breweries and uncountable small ones too. And still I usually drink the same ones....
ever think of laying off the hooch until the dui is cleared? rhetorical question btw..i already know you wont even think it
I had a bad night on gin once. Pretty much ruined any and ALL perspectives on it. =p I think it was cheap Gordon's Gin.
It's american brown ale. That's been my brew of choice lately. This one is really smooth and strong. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17284/46789 I'm finishing up this second case tonight, might run to the liquor store in a bit to look around in the beer cooler. What are you drinking tonight?
I am not drinking anything yet. I've got another bottle of port, but I may get some beer when I head out to the store. Not sure yet.
2 Saisons at a bar with some friends from work. I forget what the name of it was, but I remember it was from Michigan. I got serenaded by a random guy as I waited to go to the bathroom. He started the conversation by asking me if I was from Brazil. It usually annoys me when people ask me if I'm from a specific place, instead of asking me where I was from, but I guess I was in a good mood and my response was "no, eu falo um pouco de portugues" and he looked at me confused. I said "I was just saying I speak a little portuguese, are you from Brazil?". He told me no and that was just his guess. I told him I was Dominican and he said he could sing in Spanish. I asked what he could sing, I was expecting something horrible, but he said Manu Chao. I said that I love Manu Chao and he proceeded to sing me "Clandestino". He was actually a pretty good singer. The lady that came out of the bathroom was very confused as he continued to sing. I laughed, went to pee and left.
