This deserves to be far better known than it is. It's a wonderful, deeply felt piece of music that gives full play to the capacities of all three instruments, piano, violin and violoncello. I like this version by Harriet Krijgh & Friends, not only because they do it correctly, with correct tempi (unlike the Oistrach version) and without exaggeration (unlike the Eben Trio version which though beautifully played and recorded just goes way too far); but also because Dutch 'cellist Ms. Krijgh reminds me of the 'cello gal with whom I fell in love in 1973 whilst listening to her "Trias Trio" play this same piece. She was then about Harriet's age. So I post this in loving memory of Betsy.
