Actually, quoting specific facts is not claiming to know everything, It is just quoting what is known.
Who said anything about the Church? This is an intellectual discussion about why we cant really be sure either way if the Goddess exists or not. I've already made up my mind, and it seems you've made up yours as well. Please, lets leave religion out of this. I AM not religious.
Yeah man I think the important thing is to just keep an open mind after all this is the engine that builds human knowledge. So its no surprise that we argue about the world, how it looks and feels to us... And this is good only by bashing our beliefs and perceptions together we can solve this mystery of existence, or at least come to some sort of average understanding reality model so that we as a whole could find enlightenment . So lets not build walls of certainty and exclude us self from the collective consciousness of this universe for doing this we will exclude the universe itself from any possibility of exiting or to be in the future god.
I think we look at reality in the wrong way. But wrong is a matter of perception, so yes.. The Tree is real right now. But what is real? As opposed to unreal?
But what is the state of not existing? How do we know we arent in that same state? Because we exist? Thats pretty circular, if you ask me.
I didn't see the tree fall there for it did not make a sound ok fine something happened but what did a tree fell well whats a tree whats a fall whats a sound ? Billions years ago when universe had no life it was just like a huge rock floating in space dead matter completely unimportant with no spirit no mind no imagination . Ok I do agree the external universe exist buts it consist of ones and zeros its all irrelevant if there is no machine like a human brain(aliens work to) to comprehend it, make sens of it all. Its if eg u have a dvd disc but no dvd player, so what if the disc haves all that information in it u will never see it it will never be part of ur reality it could exist or it could not there's no difference. I mean if the universe were completely empty just endless infinite space would u say it was real does it exists after all it consists of absolutely nothing or at least u cannot see it or touch it, i would say no? Just like we all say that the universe has no edge its infinite well its expending in to something but we cannot comprehend it there for its not reality it does not exist never the less something is there.
No evidence for existence functions exactly like non existence except that the possibility of evidence exists and may be anticipated if such evidence should materialize. Have at it, theists! Be specific too. None of this all-purpose divine creator or being that is more powerful than anything else tripe. Prove your specific god exists and that the myriad of others proposed do not. Go! Christians specifically. There's ample evidence to suggest that the christian god doesnt exist. I'm more inclined to believe that zeus is the true deity if there is one. He supposedly created everything instantly which makes a lot more sense than in 6 days. Why would a perfect, omnipotent, omniscient being need more than an instant to do anything?
Pantheism eh? While I don't disagree with any metaphysical pantheistic claims (existence is existing!), the whole thing strikes me as a bit superfluous. It's j a way of looking at the world, and a needless and arbitrary one. But metaphysically uncontroversial.
The question of whether nonexistence is a state of being could be, but the definition makes it not at all.
We are able to perceive by extension for the fact that all of this inherited wisdom is the common property of life. The mammalian brain rides on top of the lizard brain, and we are constituted of the elements ourselves.
That's what I am saying how can we see something when we never saw it before. How can we understand something for what it is if no human had understood it before us , u know if its not in common perception of our reality.
