I haven't been gifted a bear pelt in quite some time. :toetap05: I remember the days where any decent pelt rewarded good sex. But a bear pelt... my gawd. That was an invitation to stay at my hearth.
Right? Should be a Beaverlick in every county of every state in the union. Ain't a beaver out there that don't need a good lickin'! :-D
Hello, right, Devil's Den for example. Interestingly they cluster again in the same area, with exceptions in Tennessee, Virginia and the UK. The search is a bit unfair anyways, because it doesn't find places like 'Teufelsmuehle' and others in different languages. Regards Gyro
a curiously human obsession. there are of course other people. bears not the lest of them. poland has several things i would like to see. principally what remains of narrow gauge railways. one of my four tribes of ancestors came from there. no offence to ursids, but i'm more of a felid and mustalid persuasion. a form who's mass exceeds its intelligence, most likely has as best of intentions as the rest of us, still there can be difficulties. the kharma of killing anything not intended for lunch, may be somewhat less then surgical. bears and humans do have rather a lot in common. not all of it flattering. still i must admit, it is humans who worry me even more.
Hello, where this guy eroded the Romans? His 7 meter long sword is a heave thing. That's why he changes the hand holding the sword every day at midnight. Regards Gyro
But you do name your mountains after it! It is especially funny with the 'bad' before it. There's also a Bad Sachsa, which I take it is not really pronounced as bad Sascha? Well we say it like that anyway
Hello, had a vacation to the Harz region recently ? The last time I was there the GDR was still in full swing. It was and maybe is a great hiking area, except at that time you got shot if you reach for the best places. The 'ch' in Bad Sachsa is pronounced like 'k', so 'Saksa' would come close. The first 's' is voiced. Regards Gyro
No, not recently but me and my friends always try to go to Stoned from the underground (somewhere near Erfurt). Skipped this year But we're aiming to go again in 2016! We always see these names on the autobahn signs and it's always the same old jokes There's also Wietze (also the name of a friend), Apen (means monkeys here), Meppen (means slapping/hitting) etc. etc.
Hello, there a names, like Floeha or Zschopau for instance, that sound strange even for us (at least if you are not from that region). And there are others, like Troisdorf, that are pronounced totally different than what you would expect in German. And the people in Troisdorf let you know if you pronounce it wrong, that's for sure . Regards Gyro
Same here, especially in Friesland, which is home of the Netherland's second official language edit: and guess where I'm from
There are loads of black bear where I live. We cannot leave garbage outside, I have to keep it in my garage the take it to the dump. Must be careful with hummingbird feeders also. I have seen quite a few in the years I've lived here.
So you sometimes can spot a black bear from your porch? Or should you head inside in such a circumstance? Anyway, I hope I can take you up on that offer some time (my ship's not finished yet )
Hello, in 2006 the last (I think) brown bear we had was shot in the Bavarian Alps. Bruno, as he was called, made the mistake and crossed the border from the south. Regards Gyro
